Tullylagan Pipe Band Est 1923, compete in both Grade 2 and Grade 4B.
We are located in Cookstown and run an all year round development programme for beginners and experienced players.
The Tullylagan Pipe Band is a Northern Ireland band that was founded in 1923 by members of the Ulster Special Constabulary:
History
The band’s history includes winning the World Championships in Belfast in 1962, becoming the first band from outside Scotland to do so. They were also All Ireland Champions and Champion of Champions in 1968.
Development program
The band offers year-round development programs for beginners and experienced players. Their goal is to help young people learn to play the Highland bagpipes and drums, and eventually perform in public events and competitions.
Competition
The band competes in both Grade 2 and Grade 4B.
Drum Major
Amelia Higgins is the current Drum Major for the band.
Pipe Major
Warren Robinson is the current Pipe Major.
Location
The band is based in Cookstown.
